Educate is one of the three pillars of the vision of the Memphis Wine Society. The Memphis Wine Society brings a vast array of educational opportunities to the public and members alike. From our in- house experts to our partnership with internationally renowned Wine Folly, our members will have in-depth, easily accessible options to choose from to expand their knowledge. 

Opportunities include:

  • Access to Wine Folly’s premier educational platforms and certifications discounted for all memberships and included in select tiers
  • Monthly educational sessions will be available to members from basic tasting experiences such as wines of France or Pinot Noir Flight Tasting and more 
  • Guest speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds and covering topics such as; climate change and wine; making wine in the South; building your cellar; wine investment; wine trends and more
  •  Grand tastings where select membership tiers have access to premier vintages and producers 
  • Annual Blind Tasting event with awards and accolades 
  • Monthly newsletter keeping members informed of wine related events in the region, highlighted wine of the month, wine region focus, wine tips and tricks, and much more 

Additional educational opportunities available to our Affiliate Members include a special industry certification series for servers, bartenders and retail associates to expand knowledge, increase confidence, and increase wine sales

In development currently is a non-profit wine education arm of the Society called the Memphis Wine Institute, which will focus on introducing wine to previously under served communities and to entice younger adults to explore wine, creating the next generation of wine enthusiasts, educators and sommeliers.
